At Cambridge Family Dental, our team is here to provide a selection of dental services for the entire family. Young or old, we serve your household with comprehensive dentistry solutions that fit the needs of everyone who comes into our practice. Our Cambridge, Wisconsin, area team is also pleased to offer treatments and diagnostic services using the most advanced dental technology and digital dentistry services available to dental professionals today. Let’s look at the technology used in our office and how it can enhance your experience in our office.

What technologies are used at Cambridge Family Dental of Cambridge, Wisconsin?

  • Digital Scanner: We utilize an intraoral digital scanner to create a digital impression of the mouth. A 3D model of the patient’s teeth will be shown on a computer screen, and this model will be sent to a local lab. The lab will print the 3D model to fabricate the patient’s crown, bridge, clear aligners, orthodontic treatment plan, or surgical guide.
  • Digital X-rays: Digital X-rays are connected to a computer and appear almost instantly. They help produce more detailed, sharper images than traditional film X-rays, allowing Dr. Bauer to detect even more from a single image than she could from a film X-ray. They are also beneficial as they produce far less radiation than more traditional dental X-rays, making them safer.
  • Zoom In-Office Whitening: Our most popular whitening option is our in-office system. Unlike take-home systems that whiten teeth over a period of time, the in-office whitening gives you a “jump-start,” and you leave your appointment with a brighter smile. We do include custom take-home trays to “touch up” as needed.
  • Advanced Oral Cancer Screening: We always perform a visual, oral cancer screening at every appointment. Often, we include our advanced screening device, the VELscope. The VELscope emits wavelengths of blue spectrum light that stimulate natural tissue fluorescence. This allows our team to find abnormal tissues that might have gone unnoticed with a visual examination.
  • Panoramic/3D/Cephalometric Machine: This piece of technology has multiple functions. The panoramic takes a full 2D image of the jaw, jaw joint, and all the teeth. It can also take external bitewings for patients with a severe gag reflex. The 3D image part takes a 3D image that Dr. Bauer can look at and plan for implant placement. The Cephalometric image is a profile X-ray used to get measurements for potential orthodontic treatment.
  • Intraoral Camera: This is an important piece of technology that we use every day. It allows us to show you what we are seeing and monitor for any changes.
